The biggest hits were, of course, the zoo animals and the alpacas. New Business Dixie reported on her attendance at the Federation meeting. She attended in Winnett (Petroleum County) with Clair Killebrew as a ride - along. Every library in the federation was in attendance, including the two new libraries: Colstrip and Forsyth. The biggest agenda item at the federation meeting was the request that someone else take over as Federation Coordinator. A new coordinator would need to be chosen and voted on at the next Federation meeting in March. Dixie suggested that Nancy should consider taking over as coordinator. After some discussion, it was decided that this topic would be discussed at the next board meeting. The Montana State Library will be holding a Trustee Training in Billings on October 20, 2012. Anyone interested in attending could get more information from Nancy or she could forward the email to them. Dixie expressed interest in attending. This will be put into our Library Aid Grant account for use as per our agreement with the Montana State Library. Nancy attended the Fall Montana Shared Catalog meeting in Helena on October 4 & 5 The biggest concern was the type /size of library that we have changed to in the last year. Laurel is now considered a Large library by type because we have over 45,000 items listed in our catalog. This number included over 9,000 eBooks. The next MSC meeting is in Miles City on May 2 & 3rd Other The Montana State Library has announced Wednesday, January 16, 2013 as Legislative Day at the State Capitol.
