Ambulance
Ambulance Director Jan Faught reported that there may be hours that the Laurel Volunteer
Ambulance Service cannot cover and she has contacted AMR to cover those hours. She repot(ed
that issues with AMR have come up regarding response. Pat asked ifAMR could meet with the
committee. Jan said she would set up a meeting and contact the Emergency Services Committee.
Discussion was held on the minutes of the Ambulance Task Force meeting that met 2-21-2000.
During the discussion, it was suggested that before Jan contacts the paper about possible
coverage shortage, she should get input from this committee.
Police
Sergeant Mike Zuhowski said the patrol car that was budgeted for should be delivered in
approximately three weeks. He reported that the new patrolmen are getting officer training.
Presently, the department is short one dispatcher and he reported that Anthony Meinhardt is a
new reserve officer.
Fire
Assistant Fire Chief Rob Harris reported to the committee on the issue of risk management. Hc
stated that he is in contact with insurance agent Tom Woods of Libby. Rob reported that he
should have more information within the next week to bring back to the committee. Rob also
commented that he is in contact with Bob Worthington oftbe Montana Municipal Insurance
Authority on this matter. Chief Jim Stevens reported that the department is two members short
at this time. He also reported that Brush 2 is near completion. Jim requested a task force to be
assigned for district contracts. Ken asked him when he would need that. Jim stated that he
would get back to Ken~
The next meeting will be held on March 27, 2000. There was no further business and the
meeting was adjourned.
