S.AIR FORCE ACADEMY expressing their appreciation for the use of the Laurel Airport during the National Collegiate Flying Association region I flying competition.. We wondered why there was no local media coverage. We had a lengthy and sometimes heated discussion concerning annexation of the Laurel Airport by the City of Laurel. Some of the questions raised were;Who will foot the bill if and when water and sewer service are extended to the Airport, how will zoning and building codes be affected, law enfomement and fire protection? We will try to bid Phase II in January. This includes taxiway and ramp renovation. Discussed living in hangars. Moved by Western and seconded by Zahm to reimburse leaseholder funds levied for chipsealing.Motion passed. Discussed allowing installation of a "dry hydrant"on Airport property. No problem. Meeting adjourned at 2130. ~ Bill Brennan, Secretary DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE 94TM FLYING TRAINING SQUADRON USAF ACADEMY COLORADO 80840-6266 15 Nov 00 Major Bruce R. The blue quonset hut worked great for studying and a place to rest when we weren't flying. Also, thank you for shielding us from the various complaints that popped up. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated and the USAFA Flying Team looks forward to the next time we compete in Laurel. Sincerely, BRUCE R. MCNAUGHTON, Major, USAF
