Smokey Staudinger mentioned the need for local streets and sidewalks to be shoveled. Mayor Rodgers
stated that this issue is being addressed through the code and MMIA.
Mary Embleton stated that January 20th is the tentative date for the workshop for elected officials and
department heads. The workshop would begin at 8:00 a.m. at the FAP building. Ken, Bud, Gary, Gay
and Mary volunteered to cook.
A special BudgeffFinance Committee meeting is scheduled for January 29th at 6:30 p.m. Brent Olness,
the auditor, will conduct the exit interview at that time. All members of the council, the city attorney and
the public are invited to attend this meeting.
Mayor Rodgers wished everyone a happy new year. Areas of concern for this :year include streets,
boundaries and maintenance that are being done by the county. The state is involved in an additional
street boundary concern, and this would help the police department's jurisdiction as well as produce
increased gas tax money for the city.
Gary Temple requested a monthly progress report from Cai Cumin on the transportation grant. Cai
suggested having a quarterly report regarding the grant that expires in November 2001. Mayor Rodgers
asked Cai to present an update at the next council meeting.
Gary mentioned the correspondence letter received regarding the Amtrak meeting scheduled for January
26th and 27th.
The meeting adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Cindy Allen
City Council Secretary
