AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF THE CURRENT UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE
WHEREAS, the City of Laurel desires to exercise the power given to it through MCA§7-
5-108, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Laurel finds it necessary to adopt the current form of the Uniform
Plumbing Code, 2000.
NOW THEREFORE:
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Laurel, Montana, that
the LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1: That Section 15.20.010 (A) is hereby amended to read as follows:
15.20.010 Adoption.
A. The Uniform Plumbing Code, 1997 2000 Edition, copyrighted by the International
Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, together with any appendix or subsequent
amendments or additions thereto, adopted or as may be adopted in the future by the Montana
State Building Codes Bureau, as applicable to local governments, is adopted by and declared to
be the plumbing code of the city for the purpose of regulating the installation, alteration or repair
of plumbing and drainage systems, and the inspection thereof.
Section 2:
That all resolutions, ordinances, and sections of the LMC inconsistent herewith are
hereby repealed.
Section 3:
If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or
circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions of
this ordinance which may be given effect without the invalid provisions or
application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to
severable.
Section 4:
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final passage by the
City Council and approved by the Mayor.
