DPW OFFICE MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Bud Johnson Gay Easton Mark Mace Chuck Rodgers OTHERS PRESENT: Rick Musson Mary Embleton The committee met and discussed the following preliminary budgets: FAP Building: Rick stated there were few changes due to the pending space study. The committee recommended increasing the utilities by 5% or more. Gay asked several questions relating to sharing space with the Ambulance Department, as they need to meet the necessary space requirements to obtain a free computer. 9-1-1 Fund: This may be used to fund the Fire Department's new base radio and repeater. Police Department: Rick stated that the wages figure includes a request for another officer position. He increased purchased services to upgrade his existing computers and he told the committee that the Police Department will soon have their statistical reports in a format that is acceptable for the State. Capital outlay requests included funding to lease two more police cars. Communications: These are basically the same as last year and include the 2.7% wage increase. Animal Control: Besides the 2.7% wage increase, it is the same as last year. Rick stated that there is still a need for space to house dogs. The committee instructed Rick to come up with some cost estimates. The committee concluded the first round of the budget process. They instructed Mary to make the necessary corrections and set up another meeting to review figures and determine the next step. Respectfully submitted, Clerk-Treasurer
