COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Chuck Rodgers Lauren Van Roekel Ken Olson Gay Easton Bill Staudinger Gary Temple Mark Mace Daniel Dart Bud Johnson OTHERS PRESENT: V. Joe Leckie Larry McCann Mary Embleton Cai Cumin Rick Musson Jim Stevens Jan Faught Mary mentioned that the judge has requested help with putting the shed kit together. The kit was purchased by grant money obtained by Restorative Justice to be used for storing tools that are used by community service workers. Smokey stated that some vandalism was done to the garage door on the American Legion building in Thomson Park. Ken requested that the Emergency Services Committee minutes of October 30, 2000, be accepted into the record under unscheduled matters. The joint city-school meeting scheduled for November 29th has been changed to December 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the superintendent's office at the Laurel Middle School. Dan Dart commended Jan Faught for her work on defining the boundaries on the map for the ambulance services. He urged Jan to call him if she needed any additional help. Bud stated that the Thomae Lumber loading zone issue would be placed under unscheduled matters. Gary asked Cal regarding the differences between trailer houses and manufactured houses. Cai explained that trailer houses are manufactured houses that do not meet uniform building code, and modular homes have a certification by the door to show that it meets the uniform building code of the State of Montana. Larry McCann stated that equipment has been moved in to start sandblasting the pool. The contractor will live in a trailer house that is parked at the pool, providing extra security during the project. We will assist with removal of the sand, and the project should be completed in three weeks. The sediment pond at the Water Plant is being cleaned. Committee of the Whole minutes of November 21, 2000 Jim Stevens mentioned that the fire department would be setting up Christmas decorations in Firemen's Park and by the FAP building on November 26th. Christmas to Remember is scheduled for December 3ra. A request to display fireworks will be brought up under unscheduled matters. Mayor Rodgers stated that the Montana Department of Transportation has approved the request to annex a portion of Buffalo Trail Road extending from the city limits on the north to the intersection of Laurel Airport Road. The next step is to annex part of Airport Road. Mayor Rodgers mentioned that several appointments would be made during the council meeting.
