DPW OFFICE MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Bud Johnson Ken Olson Chuck Rodgers Gay Eaton OTHERS PRESENT: Mark Mace Mary Embleton Jim Stevens Fire Chief Jim Stevens presented four purchase requisitions and announced that the hose test will be held on Sunday, May 21~t, at 8:00 a.m The committee reviewed the April financial statements and recommends to council that they be approved. Journal vouchers for April were reviewed and approved. The following purchase requisitions were reviewed and approved: GENERAL FUND: 1000 Laser utility cards for Clerk's Office $ 803.01 3 sets of Bunker (turn-out) gear for Fire Dept. 3,000.00 Emergency lights (bar and strobe) for new tender - Fire Dept. 1,000.00 Hose test - Fire Dept. 800.00 Deck gun monitor nozzle - Engine #3 - Fire Dept. 3,500.00 Plaster and seal for pool repairs 757.75 GAS TAX FUND: Sidewalk for FAP and park - 2nd to drive approach 2,435.00 The committee reviewed the comp/OT reports for PPE 4/30/00. The payroll register for PPE 4/30/00 for $88,74026 was reviewed and approved. Mary announced that the City has completed the process of reviewing policies and procedures with the MMIA. The City is now covered by the Employment Practices Liability Endorsement, as of May 8, 2000. The Department of Commerce will be conducting BARS workshops again this year and has scheduled one in Billings on June 22nd. Mary needs to send in the registration by May 17th for anyone who wants to attend. Mary received a letter from the Montana League of Cities and Towns regarding participation in an Agency Agreement for Electric Power Supply. The League is asking for participation by May 31st, which does not give the City enough time to put it on an agenda. The agreement will be given to Joe for review. Peg sent a letter to Chuck with a quote for repairs and/or replacement of the library building doors. Total cost to replace all four doors is $5,200 plus $1,750/entrance for automatic handicap door openers. The committee referred the matter back to the mayor, clerk-treasurer and library director to decide what can be done this year and what can wait. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. The next Budget/Finance Committee work session is scheduled for May 18th at 7:00 p.m. The next regular Budget/Finance Committee meeting is on June 5th at 7:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Clerk-Treasurer
