Other Business
Discussion on December meeting as it is scheduled for December 25. The committee decided to
wait until our next meeting on November 27 to decide when we will meet in December. Ken
reported a preliminary population estimate of approximately 6,200 which is far below the 7,500
ceiling for a Class 2 city. Ed had questions regarding the fire district. He questioned the
advantage of the city contracting with the districts. Jim stated that he thought the fire department
was not overloaded by the contracts for the district fire protection. Ed stated that he would like
to see that fire protection would be only for those in the city and use this as a tool to annex.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
