Home Occupation - Maynard & Jean Hoiland. 401 W. 13th.
Much discussion as to need for home occupation process, the
existing City business license, and having business cards with the
Laurel residential address listed; City Attorney noted the
application was filled out wrong, and the Board could not grant
something the applicant said they were doing anyway. After issues
· were clarified, Home Occupation granted, subject to conditions in
zoning Ordinance to include no client traffic to residence. The
applicant must also re-do the application to indicate the Home
Occupation activity and must appear before the City Council. Cal
Cumin recommended approval. Motion by Joe Bradley with second by
Billielou Lance.
Home Occupation - James Nelson. 1034 7th Ave.. Wooden Ornaments
Discussion as to whether a resident pursuing their hobby for profit
~eally needed to get Home Occupation approval when many elsewhere
an.City residential neighborhoods did not. Cal Cumin mentioned the
noise of a skill saw, but couldn't figure how to control it. Cal
Cumin recommended approval. Motion to approve by Billielou Lance
with second by Gudgell subject to restrictions in City Ordinance to
include no client traffic to residence.
Home Occupation - LuAnn Enqh, 1033 7th Ave., - Northland Corrosion
Services.
LuAnn Engh said the main place of commercial activity will be the
old Butler Building next to Hardee's, but that the telephone,
mailing address and bookkeeping activities would be at their
residence at 1033 Seventh Avenue. All of the firm's actual work is
located outside of Montana in oil fields in Wyoming, Utah, and the
Dakotas. The shop next to Hardee's will mainly be used for
storage. Cal Cumin recommended approval. Billielou Lance moved to
approve with Larry Thomas seconding. Unanimous.
After some discussion of Cumin Associates' Activities Report,
meeting adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cal Cumin
