Cal Cumin, City Planner Cheryll Lund, City Secretary Lee Plummet, 802 Date John Krauss, 1421 E. 8th Jim Worthington Don Gudgell Motion by Donna Kilpatrick, seconded by Billielou Lance, to approve the minutes of the March 10, 1994 meeting, and the bill for $200 for Administrative Services for April. Motion carried. Home Occupations John Krauss of 1421 E. 8th Street (out of City limits) was present requesting a home occupation to make custom furniture out of steel at his home. He is doing this right now to supplement his income and hopes to go into it full time at a later date. He will not display furniture at his home, and will depend upon word of mouth for advertising. He uses a small 130 amp welding machine andvarious small hand tools to make the furniture. He does his work in his garage. He has no neighbors within 100 feet. Cal recommends approval, subject to no customer traffic coming to Mr. Krauss's home. Motion by Lo~.nie Kellogg, seconded by Billielou Lance, to recommend approval of John Krauss's home occupation, subject to no customer traffic coming to the residence. Motion carried. Lee Plummet of 802 Date is requesting a home occupation to allow him to continue his phone sales business of oil and petroleum products. He sells small quantities of petroleum products to various people and businesses. He does keep a small quantity of the products at his house, such as grease and oil. No customers come to his home. He orders products, picks them up at local warehouses and delivers them to his customers. A question was asked to Mr. Plummer about whether he has notified neighbors within 100 feet. He said that he has and they have no objection to what he is doing. Motion by Billielou Lance, seconded by Clarence Foos, to recommend approval of a home occupation for Lee Plummer to sell petroleum products. Motion carried. AirDort Zoninq Cal has made the necessary corrections to the Laurel Airport Zoning map which was part of the changes to the overall Airport Zoning and this board has discussed over the last several months and held 2 public hearings on. Cal says it is now ready to go to City Council. Motion by Gerald Shay, seconded by Billielou Lance, to recommend changes in the Airport zoning Ordinance to the City Council. Motion carried. Preliminary Plat- Wasson Subdivision Jim Worthington was present representing both Bob Wasson and the City of Laurel concerning this preliminary plat. Cal defined three issues that need to be resolved: 1- Paragrap~ 3 of the agreement the words "and be completed before occupancy of any unit." and need to be added to the end of the first sentence; 2- deed restrictions need to be added requiring the owners of lot 1, block 1, and lot 1 block 2 to improve their frontage of Woodland Avenue when the City improves S. 5th Street. 3- State law requires 1/gth of the net residential area be given as public park. This amounts to approximately 5,272 sq. feet. Motion by Jim Ziegler, seconded by Gerald Shay, to recommend approval of Wasson Subdivision preliminary plat, subjec~ ~o: Motion carried. Cal recommended that the Board authorize the spending of $2,000 to Yellowstone County to get us started and in on the GIS Mapping System. The system would allow us access to many different maps, once we get them into the system. We would also be able to make changes on our maps much easier. Cal would like to start with a zoning map. Motion by Billielou Lance, seconded by Larry Thomas, to authorize the spending of $2,000 for the GIS Mapping System. Motion carried. Motion by Billielou Lance, seconded by DoD_ha Kilpatrick, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Complete home occupation request form and submit it to the City seven (7) working days prior to a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Board. 2. The Planning Board will consider the request at their regu- larly scheduled meeting. Attendance at this meeting is required by the applicant or his/her representative... 3. The Planning Board will make a recommendation to the City Council that the specific request for a home occupation designation be grinted or denied. 4. The City Council will consider the Planning.Board's recom- mendation concerning the specific home occupation designation and approve or deny it at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
