HOME OCCUPATIONS
Larry Vickers of 202 6th Avenue, Laurel, has applied for a home
occupation to operate his carpet and upholstery, fire and water
restoration service, out of his home.
He does all of his work out of his 3/4 ~on van, at his customer's
residence. The waste from the cleaning machine is dumped into an
RV dumping station. Ail of the solutions he uses are
environmentally friendly.
He may employ one other person to help with his service, in the
future. This person would not live or work out of Mr. Vicker's
home.
Lonnie Kellogg requested that Mr. Vickers bring' a list of the
chemicals he uses to the City Council meeting. Mr. Vickers agreed
to do so.
Cal recommends approval.
Motion by Billielou Lance, seconded by Merrill Watkins, to
recommend approval of Larry Vicker's home occupation for a fire &
water restoration, carpet and upholstery cleaning service at 202
6th Avenue, to the City Council. Motion carried.
Gerry Tod of 2745 S. Ramshorn, Laurel, has requested a home
occupation to do part time taxidermy out of his home. He does
taxidermy mainly as a hobby, as he has a full time job at the
Carpet Barn. But occasionally he does a mount for someone else.
Mr. Tod has the reqllired state and federal licenses he needs to do
taxidermy. He also does not live within Laurel city limits so he
does not need to purchase a city business license (unless he wants
to advertise- which he states that he will not do).
He does not tan any hides at his home. He purchases his hides
elsewhere. He does do.fish hides at his house.
Mr. Tod plans to stay only 6 months at this residence as he is
renting and has signed a 6-month lease. He is in the process of
looking for a permanent residence.
There would be no odor to the neighbors. And, there would be very
minimal traffic.
Cal recommends approval subject to no traffic coming to the
residence.
Motion by Billielou Lance, seconded by Merrill Watkins, to
recommend approval to the City Council for the home occupation of
Gerry Tod, for taxidermy, at 2745 S. Ramshorn, subject to no
traffic coming to the home. Motion carried.
Don Gudgell mentioned that the Laurel Little League is looking for
available land to build more baseball fields on. If any0ne knows
of any land please contact Mark Mace, President of the Laurel
Little League.
Motion by Donald Gud~ell, seconded Billielou Lance, to adjourn
the meeting. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
Respectfully s~bmitted,
Cher~ll Lund, Secretary
