Don distributed the 1996-97 budget calendar.
Discussion regarding the transfer of money to the Capital Project
Fund. The committee recommends transfering $15,000 from the Fire
Department Contract Revenue to the Fire Department Capital Projects
Fund and $15,000 from General Fund tax collection to the Street
Equipment Capital Projects fund. Resolutions will be presented at
the February 6th council meeting.
Discussion regarding the purchase of equipment for trimming trees.
There was a suggestion of possibly hiring someone to trim trees,
but this may be too costly.
Don mentioned that the mid-year budget review should be completed
by February 6th.
Chuck Rodgers commented that we need to start planning on acquiring
more land for future cemetery use. The Arden property by the FAP
complex needs to be looked at for possible expansion of the
complex. The city owned lots in Cherry Hill Subdivision should be
sold or developed.
It was reported that most of the repair costs of the water line
repair at Cenex will be billed to Exxon or their contractor.
Jim mentioned that bid opening for the dump trucks will be January
29th at a committee meeting.
Donna said that the park committee has been discussing the
possibility of expanding the summer Recreation Directors' duties to
include the swimming pool.
Purchase requisitions were approved as follows:
General Fund
Remove and install overhead bay door
opener at the FAP
Senior Helping Hands program
Laurel Senior Citizen's Center
