HomeMy WebLinkAboutBudget/Finance Committee Minutes 05.29.1996 MINUTES BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE MAY 29, 1996 5:30 P.M. OLD COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT: Chairman- Donna Kilpatrick Ron Marshall Don Hackmann Gay Easton Bud Johnson Dirk Kroll (late) Chuck Rodgers Jim Flisrand Don reported that Bill Akers, United of Omaha representative, had called and indicated that there is a projected premium increase not to exceed 15%. He will have a more definite figure in a few days. The committee reviewed several preliminary budgets. Jim will determine where more cuts can be made in the Water and Sewer funds. The sweeping district budget reflects an increase in repair and maintenance. It was decided to delay the purchase of new sweeper until next year, with the possibility of expanding the commercial sweeping district and a review of the existing sweeping district assessment. The 1985 Sunvac sweeper will be kept as a back-up and the 1980 Wayne 3 wheeler would be traded in. Swimming pool wages were reviewed. There was an error in the Budget/Finance minutes of May 8th and the hourly wages should be as follows: Pool Manager $ 6.20 Asst. Manager 5.75 Head Lifeguard 5.00 New Lifeguard 4.25 Returning Lifeguard 4.50 Discussion regarding overtime. There appears to be a substantial amount of overtime paid each pay period. Don will prepare an overtime report, by department, for the committee to review. The next meeting to review the preliminary budget is scheduled for June 12th. The meeting was adjourn'ed at 8:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Don Hackmann City Clerk
