OLD COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT: Chairman- Donna Kilpatrick Ron Marshall Gay Easton Don Hackmann Dirk Kroll Dave Michael Jim Flisrand Darrell McGillen Don distributed the overtime listing for the pay period ending 9-10-96. Dave presented a purchase requisition for a new computer for the sewer plant. The one they have is too small for their needs, but the Clerk's office can use it. Drive A is not working properly, plus the IBM PC purchased in 1984 is very slow. This computer is being used for word processing and the Clerk's index. All the files can be transferred from one computer to the other. Dave also presented information regarding the proposed sewer rate increase. Darrell McGillen requested permission to advertise for a new fire truck. Engine No. 1 had the pump go out on it during a recent fire. It would cost $10,000 to $15,000 to repair it, and $25,000 for a new pump. It has a 1964 chassis and if the pump were fixed or replaced, it would still be on old truck. This truck could be converted to a bush truck for about $10,000. The fire committee has recommended to go out for bid on a new truck which is estimated to cost around $155,000. Federal Signal Corp. has financing available for 5.75%. This could be financed for up to five years. The local banks would be given a chance to bid on the financing. There is some money available for a down payment. Motion by Ron Marshall, seconded by Gay Easton, to advertise for a new fire truck. Motion carried. Purchase requisitions were approved as follows: GENERAL FUND Gas for police and animal control vehicles Microfilming of records Four Motorola radios to replace stolen ones from fire department.
