Minutes approved as presented
Lisa Harman & Greg Krugger (TIF expert) will be attending next meeting. Look into finding one building
to kick off downtown growth development
Monica received an application form Laurie Pitts for technical assistance - $4,000 match. A motion to
approve this was presented and approved. Economic development chapter for business with a growth
management plan will be held soon with a date to be announced. There are two questions for them, 1)
define economic development and 2) what does that look like? It needs to help develop community
goals in Laurel. The movie theater needs money to convert to digital, Riley to meet with Big Sky
Development
Heidi working on a marketing plan and intern with Steve meeting Oct. 22. Look into marketing to
families who work in the oil fields
Mayor Olson suggest in providing a forum to find a better way to address economic development — have
one person to lead
Judy is working with Laurel Outlook to highlight one building designated as historical to write about each
month.
How do we get the Chamber involved as an asset to eachother.
Dean says fundraising for the new gym floor is growing in interest. Along with LURA having a matching
plan, Rotary is doing the same, sponsors are coming on board and the Boosters Club is leading the
promotions.
