Members Present: Chairman Mark Mace Amy Pollock LuAnne Engh Skate Park Steering Committee: Kat Stokes Guest Staff Present: Public Works Director Kurt Markegard Chairman Mace called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. Public Comments No public citizens were present. Laurel Little League — Request for field in Fir Park The Park Board discussed the Laurel Little League's proposal to construct a new Minors baseball field in the Fir Park complex. The plans that Mike Crowl presented to the city staff were reviewed and discussed at length. Amy asked how the field would be situated, as the drawing looked out of scale to her. It was also discussed that the park land that Yellowstone County was offering the City of Laurel to take over and annex as a Boy Scouts trail walk or dog park could also be used as a remote spot for a skate park if it was situated correctly on the 17 -acre parcel. The group discussed any additional ideas of interest for a location, but the only location that had the necessary room and few buildings or homes near was the park area on East Maryland. The Park Board members were asked whether they would recommend to the council that the Laurel Little League be allowed to use Fir Park to develop a baseball field north of the Fir soccer field. All members agreed. A lease agreement is needed. Amy Pollock had to leave the meeting. Skate park location Chairman Mace mentioned the list of things the skate park steering committee should be doing to bring a suitable location for approval to the Park Board to recommend to the City Council to vote on. One item suggested is to take all supporters to the site of the open park land and look at the possibilities the land holds for many uses at the same time, without interfering with each other due to the large area that is available. Other There was no discussion. The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Y d4 Mark Mace
