Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on August 23rd at Emma's. In attendance were: Executive Board Members:
President - John Mataisz, VP- Steve Yates, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant Marcia Hafner.
Directors: Jim Taylor, Tim Bronk, Jodi Chapman, Ed Madrid, Janelle Crowley, Michelle DeBoer, Angela
Hughes, Heidi Jensen, and Altemate Joe Statser. Members: Clyde Barton, and Constance Macaraeg, and
guest: Mayor Ken Olson.
John called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Steve, 2" - Joe.
The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Angela, 2" -
Steve.
NEW BUSINESS
• New Board Members - Welcome to Ed Madrid and Janelle Crowley.
• New Members - Su Sherrie's Treasures owned by Constance Macaraeg. She would like a
ribbon cutting on the 2 Thursday of September.
• Farmers Market Income - Last week was $122, even with the rain.
• Chamber Meeting Discussion - A suggestion has been made that the Chamber board
consider holding monthly meetings instead of bi- monthly meetings. Angela moved to have
board meetings once a month, allowing for committee meetings and email votes when
needed. Ed 2" Motion passed. The 3rd Thursday of the month was suggested.
• Christmas Decorations - The committee looked at decorations on Tuesday. We have an
account for repairs. The committee decided that we need to start replacing them with new
ones with LED lights. Some of them are past repair. Heidi moved to order 20 new
decorations, not to exceed $10,000. Tim 2 " The motion passed. The board was shown
several choices. They voted to order 6 trees, 6 bells, and 8 poinsettias.
OLD BUSINESS
• Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. Marcia has sent out the information to
several businesses.
• Repair the Sign Project - Tim will contact the school. We may have to ask Schessler's
to remove the roof, and we will need the electricity disconnected. John mentioned the
school may want the 2 glass cases.
OPEN FORUM
• Football Games & Parking Issue - Tim said that the city would be enforcing parking
restrictions during football games.
• Annual Meeting - Start thinking about entertainment for the annual meeting.
• Rock the Block - September 7 - 7 Ave. Band is playing.
• Business after Hours -.

Repair sign project - school has interest in glass cases - Next is to disconnect electric
remove the roof and tear it out. City is willing to help.
