HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Chamber of Commerce (14) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on August 9 at Sid's Eastside Grill. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President - John Mataisz, VP- Steve Yates, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant Marcia Hafner. Directors: Bryan Wood, Angela Hughes, and Alternate Joe Statser. Members: Dan Dart. John called the meeting to order We do not have a quorum present. The minutes were approved by those present: moved to approve - Angela, 2nd - Steve. The financial report was also approved by those present and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Bryan, 2n - Steve. . NEW BUSINESS • New Members - none • Replacement Board Members- . Congratulations to Ed Madrid and Janelle Crowley who were elected in a ballot and email ballot vote. Nominees were: Ed Madrid, Janelle Crowley, Jennifer Ries, Celeste Wagner and Bob Grover • Ribbon Cutting - Dan Dart & Associates, today at 1:00. OLD BUSINESS • Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. • Farmers' Market - Income: week 1 - $58, week 2 - $118, week 3 - $135. 3 new banners are in place (Banners cost $245) and a new ad has been made for the Outlook. • Repair the Sign Project - After a closer look at the rotted logs, it has been suggested that we return to our original plan of having the sign restored or removed. Angela moved to tear the big sign down and Joe 2n It was agreed on by the group, but will need a vote. Angela also suggested we look into the cost of fixing the walkway, informational signs. OPEN FORUM • Christmas Decorations - We have an account for repairs. We need suggestions for what repairs /replacements need to be done. A committee was formed to see how bad they are and what should be done. Angela, John, and Steve volunteered. It was also mentioned that Jim be on this committee. The date to go to boxcar will be Tuesday, the 21s at 10 am. • Newspapers -it was moved to donate $25 to sponsor a weeks of newspapers to the schools.
