HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Chamber of Commerce (13) I I July 12 2012 Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on July 12th at Guadalajara. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President - John Mataisz, Secretary Joanne Flynn. Directors: Jim Taylor, Bryan Wood, Joe Statser, asnd Rob Engh (for LuAnne) Members: Zada Stamper, Laura Mussetter and Lindsay Aguilar. John called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve -Jim, 2' - Bryan. The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Zada, 2" - Rob. NEW BUSINESS • New Members - None • July 4 Results - Joanne showed the board some to -date figures from the July 4th events. Although not conclusive the results included amount collected from Run Sponsors, Run entries, Parade, Craft Vendors, Food venders and Parking. Final figures will be available at the next meeting. There was much discussion about the 4 mostly concerning the parade as we had several entries who assumed that it was OK to stop during the parade for their own benefit. Joanne said she will do a new parade entry for next year that will include a larger print area of the rules. All agreed that the Run went extremely well and that we will continue to use Montana Timing and the online registration. Total runners 353 - total sign ups that morning was down to 44. OLD BUSINESS • Laurel Downtown Farmers' Market - Starts next week! The Outlook did a nice ad and included the need for a Market Manager within the ad. • World Harmony Run - The runners came to the Chamber on the 5 for a meet & greet. They explained that Mo did a great job introducing them to the crowd at the fireworks. They enjoyed the player piano and took lots of pictures. • Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. • Repair the Sign Project - Laura and Mike will ordered the materials. Joanne will call the city to have the sprinkler near the sign turned off. • Spotlight on Business - Emma's will do another, since they have changed their name. OPEN FORUM • Joanne explained that Peggy Miller wants to visit with the board concerning a project to raise funds to replace the flags in Laurel for all groups.
