LAUREL URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY
June 18, 2012

Minutes from last meeting to be corrected to show Austin Pharmacy has closed so no payments will be due
them. A pizza store may be going in soon.
Laurel Alive was represented by Linda who told us the June 8 Rock the Block brought in $194 for the mural
cover. The thinking is the Chamber needs to get up to speed with LURA programs so they can advise current
and new members what we can do for them.
Monica is going to Butte for the TIF workshop along with Ken Olson and Heidi Jensen. She is waiting for
signatures and financials for the awning to be submitted but the funding is in good shape.
Heidi will talk to the cleaners about a new sign to go along with the new improvements. She has had
questions about the tree care. For the first year MDT will care for them then instructions will be sent out.
LURA should be sending a letter out fairly soon about trash bins. Heidi and Monica will be bringing
applications to the next meeting to have a vote
It was talked about having a lead person for each item on our new agenda
We are looking for guest speaker ideas. It has been suggested having Lisa Harman, someone from the
Chamber and John Matais for Ace. Bus/van trips to Billings starting the first week of July running Monday
thru Friday.
The next meeting will be July 16 due to July 4 so close to the first meeting of the month.
