Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on June 28th at the Palace. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President -
John Mataisz, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant Marda Hafner. Directors: Jim Taylor, Bryan Wood, Jodi
Chapman, Libby Erb, and Michelle DeBoer. Members: Renee Studiner, Zada Stamper, Laura Mussetter and Lindsay
Aguilar.
John called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Zada, 2" - Renee.
The financial report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Libby, 2" - Bryan.
NEW BUSINESS
• New Members - Pop's Kitchen & Dan Dart Allstate.
• Donation - The Chamber received an unrequested donation from CHS in the amount of $300.
• Laurel Downtown Farmers' Market - The Outlook will be doing an article and run an Ad. The
market will start on July 18 We are still looking for a Market Manager.
OLD BUSINESS
• Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new.
• World Harmony Run - The Chamber was contacted to help get them involved in the festivities
on the 4 and to have a small meet & greet on July 5 There will be a nice article in the
Outlook.
• July 4 Update -
o Run - Registration is up, but a lot of late sign -ups are still expected. MT Timing will be
there at 5:00 am. Libby and Zada volunteered to help.
o Parade - Registrations are coming in. Up 31 from this time last year.
o Water for Run - Still looking for a group to hand out water. 10 -12 kids are needed
between 6:30 and 8:30. It was moved to authorize $200 to pay a group to hand out the
water. Jim moved, 2 — Libby.
o Parking for Vendors - Still looking for a group to take over that duty. Marcia has a
couple of groups she is still working on.
• Repair the Sign Project - Laura and Mike will order the materials. A date for the work will be
set at the next board meeting. It was also mentioned that the water that hits the sign will have
to be turned off before the project can begin.
• Spotlight on Business - Emma's would like to do another, since they have changed their
name.
OPEN FORUM
• Rock the Block - July 6 - Black Velvet.
• Business after Hours - .
o July 26 - Sid's Eastside Bar & Grill
o August 23 - A Haus of Realty
o September 27 - Christmas to Remember
• Car & Craft Show on July 7th - Walmart is looking for sponsors for the cars. The BBQ, etc.
will benefit the American Cancer Society. Luminaries will be sold for Relay for Life.
