Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on May 24 at Altana FCU, food provided by Vinnie's Deli. In attendance were:
Executive Board Members: President - John Mataisz, VP- Steve Yates, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her
assistant Marcia Hafner. Directors: Michelle DeBoer, Angela Hughes and Alternate Joe Statser. Members:
Renee Studiner, Zada Stamper, Clyde Barton, Ed Madrid, Linda Lane and Monna Rae Adickes.
John called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Steve, 2nd - Zada.
The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Steve, 2n -
Mic helle.
NEW BUSINESS
• New Members - Classic Hair & Beauty
• Montana Chamber Survey -
o Total # of business license's in city - 540
o # of Business license's located in Laurel - 242
o # of members - 156
o Chamber of Commerce % of members 64.4%
Many of the remaining businesses are home based businesses.
OLD BUSINESS
• Parade - "We the People" kids were voted to be our Grand Marshals for the parade. Zada
volunteered to contact Lee Deming, their advisor at the High School.
• "Repair the Sign Project" - The project was discussed. We need to be sure Magnum will
be doing the restoration. A July 4 completion date was set.
• Sound system- Joanne asked if anyone knew about sound systems. She is going to go
looking next week.
OPEN FORUM
• Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new.
• Michelle passed out info on the Putt-a -Round Town.
• Angela brought up that the Women's Run had some problems with the computer timer.
She suggested that they (Montana Timing) start the race with a gun start and a chip
finish.
