MAIN STREET Members present: Shirley McDermott, Dean Rankin, Daniel Klein Advisors present: Others present: Bill Kampfer, Judy Goldsbe, Heidi Jensen, Monica Plecker, Ken Olson, Tim Brock Minutes approved as submitted Judy needs to send a letter to City Council to request to be put on LURA as a member and she will send a letter to switch Linda and Dirk since he cannot attend on a regular basis Dean spoke for Laurel Alive and said the Caboose project is close to completion. There needs to have some edging installed, put a sign up, matting and mulch to be put in place. Girls softball is scheduled to provide food the May 18 Lighting for the awning and moving current street lights need a LURA vote for money to be committed. The awning is estimated to cost between $20,000 to $25,000. A grant is in place to pay $4,673 from the Montana Arts Council and Laurel Alive will match but more money will be needed. The Mayor pointed out the timing to get everything completed by July 1 is tight. Things like permits, building owner approval who the Mayor will contact, the contractor to do the work needs to be available, etc. Other project ahead are the sidewalks that should be completed by June 6, Monica and Heidi are waiting to hear from Sam Painter on the Railroad lease There are no new applications the Fagade Improvement or Technical assistance. Plans for the meeting with Ann Clancy are moving ahead. There are 20 on the list, the meeting will be held May 30 from 8:30 to 12:30 and will be held at the old middle school board room on the second floor.
