Statistically the overall calls are down slightly with a statistically insignificant increase from last year in the reporting period. Crimes reported year to date are up 7.2 %. Crimes in the reporting period were neutral for the 3 -year average. There has been an increase in the severity of calls in the last two weeks regarding mental health, disorderly, and disturbance calls. We currently- have 4 of 5 applicants still in back grounds for an anticipated 3 open positions. Laurel was -offered a second spot in the upcoming Academy class. I decided to send both Officer Ratcliff and Lafrombois. This will make the next two months very tight for schedules. However, the department will be in a far better -spot at the end of June with both Officers through the Academy. Staff have been incredible intheirwillingness to forgo training and leave to fill the needs of Patrol. It has been, and is, a very busy season with projects, negotiations, and budget season. Respectfully, Chief Langve Lau -m i.pe 12% 215 W.
