MAIN STREET Members present: Shirley McDermott, Dean Rankin, Daniel Klein Advisors present: Aletta Zimmerman, Janice Lehman Others present: Bill Kampfer, Ann Clancy, Leslie Atkins, Monaco Plecker, Ken Olson, Heidi Jensen, Shirley Ewan, Judy Goldsbe, Linda Frickel, Randy Hafner, Nash Minutes approved as submitter Ann Clancy, strategic planning sessions to start with strengths of our situation, what to move toward Spend a min. of 4 hours with a group of 20 or less. The bill will be under $5,000. Planning gives the group direction followed by action. Look at schools, railroad and others outside the TIF for input. Plan to have annual sessions to update progress. A 3 person planning group will decide on the 20 people. Look at mailing business people & maybe property owners. The board and some city people will be involved Shirley E. says our cash balance is about $293,000 Linda may take Dirk's position because he can't make meetings all the time due to his job. Randy & Nash have been trying to get with Zak. They have met with Leslie to review updates and overview to replace window and improve the exterior. Marshall bldg. and Hair on Main may qualify for historic tax credits, there may be some code problems to solve first that Zak knows about but there are not current solutions Laurel Alive Rock the Block start May 18 and others are June 8, June 22, July 6, July 20, Aug 3, Aug 24 and Sept 7. Bands and food are in the works. Awning sketch is done and lumber prices are coming together and must be completed by July 1. Monica is working on a growth management plan Heidi says the sidewalk plan came in $100,000 over budget, construction will be starting soon and they will be replacing valves in sidewalk so the all work. May will start 2 meetings a month with the next meeting to be May 7, 2012
