AMENDING SECTION 13.04.120, DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS,
OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel, that
Section 13.04.120 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 13.04.120 Delinquent Accounts.
1. All water users, which allow the water bill to become delinquent
to the second month of billing, shall be notified by the City
Clerk at the time of the delinquency, and that water service
will be discontinued by the City on a date not sooner than
three (3) days after such notice, and upon failure to pay
the delinquent account in full within such notification period,
the Water Commissioner shall discontinue water service to that
accomnt~ and the delinquent account gay be charged off against
the water deposit as hereinafter specified.
2. An additional charge of Fifteen and NO/lO0 Dollars ($15.00)
shall be imposed upon all persons whose water service has been
shut off because of delinquency. All delinquent amounts plus
the additional charge must be paid in full before water service
will be turned back on. If any such delinquent customer desires
to have water turned on after 5:00 p.m. he must pay the required
overtime at the rate of two hours callout to be paid in advance.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on
March 5, 1985, by Alderman Kellogg
PASSED by the Laurel City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor
this 19th day of March, 1985.
This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after final
passage by the Laurel City Council.
