AMENDING SECTION 5.48.040 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSING AND PLACEMENT
OF ELECTRONIC VIDEO DRAW POKER MACHINES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel that
Section 5.48.040 of the Laurel Municipal Code is hereby amended
in pertinent part to read as follows:
Section 5.48.040 Fees. Before issuing any licenses as
defined in this chapter, the City or County Treasurer shall
charge and collect from each applicant license fees as follows:
A. From each owner or operator of any premise which has been
licensed as set forth in this chapter for the playing of
card games (non-electronic), a parlor or premise license
of five-hundred and no/lO0 dollars ($500.00) per year and
in addition thereto, two-hundred and no/100 dollars {$200.00)
each year for each table or stand where poker and/or pan-
guingue are played. All other card games shall pay an annual
at a regular session of
license fee of ten and no/100 dollars ($10.00) per table.

C. Electronic Video Draw Poker Machines:
1. From each owner or operator of any premise and any
individual other than non-profit organizations or
churches, who offers or operates any electronic video
draw poker machine as defined under State law, shall
first obtain an electronic video draw poker machine
license from the City at a cost of fifty and no/100
dollars ($50.00) per establishment, regardless of the
number of machines located in the establishment, which
fee shall be prorated on a monthly basis.
2. Prior to obtaining a City license for such machines,
the applicant must have been granted a State license
for the placement of such machines in his or her
establishment.
3. Ail such machines and their operation shall conform to
and be governed by appropriate State law.
