ADDING SECTION 10.70.020, PARKING PROHIBITED
IN FREIGHT LOADING ZONES, TO THE LAUREL
MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 10.70.020 is hereby added to
the Laurel Municipal Code, to read as follows:
Section 10.70.020 Parking Prohibited in Freight Loading
Zones.
1. No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle within
a freight loading zone described in Section 10.70.010 for
any purpose or period of time other than and while actually
engaged in expeditious loading and unloading, or pickup and
loading of materials.
2. The driver of a vehicle may stop temporarily in a freight
loading zone for the purpose of, and while actually engaged
in, loading or unloading passengers when such stopping does
not interfere with the use of the freight loading zone by
any vehicle used for the pickup, delivery, or transportation
of materials.
3. This ordinance does not alter, affect, or amend any of
the provisions of Section 10.24.130, 10.24.140, or 10.24.150
of this code.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on
November 6, 1985, by Alderman Meyers
Passed by the Laurel City Council and approved by the
Mayor this 19th day of November, 1~5.
This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after
final passage by the Laurel City Council.
