August 25, 1997
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was
held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Chuck Rodgers at ?:00
p.m., on August 25, 1997 for the specific purpose of putting the water rate
increase into effect.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT:
Miles Walton
Bud Johnson
Norman Orr
Dirk Kroll
Gary Temple
Donna Kilpatrick
William Staudinger
Gay Easton
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: None
WATER RATE INCREASE:
RESOLUTION NO. R97-47
A RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING THE WATER
RATES AS APPROVED IN R97-11
Discussion regarding the paragraph which states "That the water rate increases
as approved by Resolution R97-1] shall be implemented with the effective date of
September 1, 1997 and shall apply to the consumption of water for that billing
period staring September 10, 1997 and ending October 10, 1997."
Not all meters are read on the 10th of the month, but could vary two or three
days.
Motion by Alderman Johnson to amend the resolution to read "That the water
rate increases as approved by Resolution R97-11 shall be implemented with the
effective date of September 1, 1997 and shall apply to the consumption of water
for that billing period starting with the September 1997 meter reading and
ending with the October 1997 meter reading", seconded by Alderman Temple.
Motion carried 8--0.
Motion by Alderman Johnson that Resolution No. R97-47 be passed and
adopted, as amended, seconded by Alderman Walton. Motion carried 8--0.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
