BOARD OF TRUSTEES December 10, 2002
Attending -Peg Freund(presiding), Katherine Kucera, Bonnie Latham,
and Peggy Arnold
Minutes -read and approved
Correspondence -Rose Marie Kline submitted a letter of retirement
effective January 23, 2003. We received a memorandum of agreement
from South Central Federation Headquarters. The memorandum was
signed and will be returned. The MLA Focus will be available online
from now on. We received our stipend of $180 for the trustee training
workshop. Peggy Arnold submitted the Montana State Library report
online.
Circulation- Traffic for November 2002 was 1,323 down 4% from
November 2001. Circulation for November 2002 was 2,564 down 2%
from November 2001.
Old Business -Jason Hill completed his Eagle Scout project this month.
Bernie Masons holiday program was well attended. Peggy is still
working on getting a Friends group organized and getting a job
description for a substitute library position.
New Business- A motion was passed to accept Rose Marie Kline's
retirement request. A motion was passed to fill this position. There was
some discussion about restructuring the library position jobs. We will
hold our regular meeting on January 7 to work on the FY 2003 budget.
The General Federated Women's Club will host a Teddy Bear parade on
December 18 at 10:30 9„ m. Peggy has been looking in to switching to
Cable Modem access for our Internet connection and service because it
should be faster and will cost less.
A motion was passed to close the library at noon on Dec. 24 and at 2
p.m. on Dec. 31. Employees may use vacation leave to make up these
hours. Peggy will be on vacation Dec. 24, 27 and January 11 -19.
