BOARD OF TRUSTEES May 13, 2003
Attending -Gail Brice (presiding), Katherine Kucera, Bonnie Latham, and Clara
Killebrew and Peggy Arnold.
Minutes- read and approved
Correspondence- We are scheduled to present the Library Budget to the council
on Monday May 19 at 7 p.m. We received the form from the State Library to
certify that we are in compliance with library standards.
Circulation -April 2003 traffic was 1,808 up 12% from April 2002. April.P
circulation was 3,130 up 5% from April 2002.
Old Business- The play and egg hunt that the Laurel Federated Women's Club
sponsored went very well. Quilts are displayed and the staff is using the
circulation system for a trial period. Rosanne Coy has been hired to fill the
substitute library clerk position.
New Business- The agenda needs to include a time for public comment according
to public meeting laws in Montana. Peggy has been working with other
department heads on a Capital Improvements Plan. AEM will presenteg a
leadership & management workshop for department heads and other city
employees on April 26 and will have another one May 27. The library will be
closed May 23 -26 and there will be some school tours this month. The summer
reading program will begin in June and we will look at revising the patron
conduct rules.
