BOARD OF TRUSTEES October 14, 2003
Attending
Peggy Freund (presiding), Katherine Kucera, Bonnie Latham, Gail Brice, and
Peggy Arnold attended the meeting.
Minutes
The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.
Correspondence
We received a fax from I Drive Safely requesting us to allow library personnel to
verify the identity of individuals taking their online safety course. There is a
public library division retreat for MLA members October 19 -20 at Chico. Peggy
will attend the sessions on virtual libraries and legal information for libraries at
this retreat.
Circulation
Traffic for September 2003 was 1,624 up 33% from September 2002. Circulation
for September 2003 was 3,059 up 18% from September 2002.
Old Business
We reviewed the Community Room Use Rules and some changes will be made.
More changes may be made after Peggy attends the MLA retreat. The Library
Board will need to present an annual report to the City Council. The Library Trust
is still looking for members and a treasurer.
New Business
Rosanne Coy will have a six months employment review with Peggy and will
receive a raise if she has a satisfactory review. We will ask Bernice Mason to
present her holiday program at the library again this year. Katherine Kucera
reported on the Federation Advisory Board meeting that was held in Lewistown
on September 26, 2003. Katherine and Bonnie Latham reported on the sessions
that they attended during the Fall Workshop in Lewistown on October 26 and
27 Katherine reported on the Weeding the Collection and the Future of
Libraries sessions. Bonnie reported on C.I.P.A. and Internet filtering session.
Time to Address the Board
No one addressed the board.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on November 18, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. We are meeting on
the third Tuesday of the month due to Veteran's Day falling on the second
Tuesday.
