Board of Trustees June 14, 2005

Minutes
The minutes of the May 10 meeting were read and approved.
Correspondence
Daniel Baney has selected the library for his Eagle Scout Award. No changes
have been made to the preliminary budget.
Circulation
Traffic for May 2005 was 1,603 up 5% from May 2004. Circulation was 2,919 the
same as May 2004.
Old Business
The summer reading program began June 6 and a clown from the circus visited
the library on June 8. The Laurel Road Runner 4H planted flowers in the beds
around the trees. Some of the youths from 4H will conduct story time in June
and July. Peggy and Katherine will attend the Montana State Library Summer
Institute in Billings June 16 through 18. We discussed who to contact to fill the
board vacancy. We will try to set up a meeting with a core group to establish a
Friends of the Library group in late August or early September. Several names
were suggested for the core group.
New Business
We will meet for lunch in July or August with Bonny Latham in appreciation of her
service on the library board. The board discussed using volunteers to work at
the library on days the library is not open. No one was in favor of using
volunteers this way. We discussed training opportunities for board members.
Peggy will be on vacation July 4 -8 and will attend a workshop in Billings on July
11.
