Update of Police Shooting Range
Officer Mark Guy said there is no further information to report on finding a location for a
shooting range. The reason the city is looking for a different shooting range is because the
current location is on public land. It is a safety hazard for other people who use the land and
might not know it is being used as a shooting range. The area is also used by the police officers
to practice firearm tactics. There was discussion from committee members on ideas for a
location and they will do more research.
Introduction of Five -Year Plans for Fire, Ambulance, and Police
Chairman Doug Poehls stated that the five -year plans are for these departments to determine
what they will need to expand in the next five years, for example in the areas of rescue, training
and emergency calls, etc. The city has a 20 -year plan with growth projections. These growth
projections can help the departments plan for their future, such as in a new fire department
building, park maintenance district and safety. These plans will be presented and discussed with
the council to come up with the direction the city will take in order to move forward and get
them completed.
Respectfully Submitted,
Neva Hall, Secretary
