HomeMy WebLinkAboutPark Board Minutes 11.03.2011 Park Board —11 -3 -2011 5:30 — City Hall Attendance: Mark Mace, LuAnne Engh, Gretchen Paulson, Amy Pollock, Hazel Storck, Chuck Dickerson Mark Mace opened the meeting. No public in attendance. Mark stated that Norm Stamper could no longer be head of the Park Board due to his job schedule, but would remain on the board as a member. • Elena Subdivision: Gretchen reported that Heidi is waiting for estimates in order to start the bonding. The bonding company is ready and asking for numbers. Gretchen said she'd help contact the contractors to get those numbers. Bonds will be based on square footage of lots. • Spray Park: There has been no progress on the letter with Billy Riddle's family. Betty Vogel (Billy's niece) has said she doesn't care what the city does with the money but if they want help with the estate they will have to pay the lawyer's fees. Joyce Kruger is another relative living in Laurel that should be contacted as well. Amy and LuAnne will visit with her. • Park Maintenance District: With the increase in water rates, asking for a Park tax district is probably not a good idea. Billings is going through a mail ballot for a maintenance district where voters have to write in to petition against the tax instead of vote in an open election. This could also hurt our chances of asking for a vote. We need more than just those homeowners in the city limits to help maintain the parks. • Riverside Park: Besides Exxon, Continental and Williston Basin are also paying for the use of the park to repair and extract their pipelines, which will extend the lease for 3 more months. We need to develop a punch list of improvements for the park so the money is well spent. There was no other discussion — Meeting adjourned at 6:20 LuAnne Engh
