AUTHORIZING THE PARK COMMITTEE TO ADOPT
AND POST RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING USE
OF CITY PARKS AND PROVIDING PUNISHMENT FOR A
VIOLATION OF SAID RULES
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 16.02.010 is hereby added to the
Laurel Municipal Codes as follows:
Section 16.02.010 Adopt Rules and Regulations
(1) The Park Committee of the City of Laurel, appointed
by the Mayor, shall have the authority to draw up and
adopt rules for the use of City parks, including a permit
and registration requirement by groups of users and
including consumption of alcoholic beverages in City parks.
(2) Rules and regulations adopted by the Park Committee
and the Council pursuant to this section, shall be posted
in various parks, including Riverside Park.
(3) From and after the posting of such rules and
regulations any person violating the same shall commit a
misdemeanor which shall be punishable by a fine of not
less than $50.00 nor more than $500.00 and/or a jail
sentence not exceeding six (6) months.
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after
final passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
Introduced on first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on April 4, 1989, by Alderman Dickerson, and passed.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second
reading this 18th day of April , 1989, upon a motion by
Alderman Dickers0n
