MINUTES -read and approved
ATTENDANCE- Gene Williams(presidinQ),Adele Zink,Bonnie Preikszae,
Ruth Baker,Peggy Arnold(secretary)
COMMUNICATIONS- received a letter of resignation from Sedley
Baroness, received a thankyou note from Evelyn Crow, board
members received invitations to the city party on Dec. 13., and
Wy -Mont Coca -Cole will present its donation to the library fund
at the festival of lights on Nov.30.
REPORT OF THE LIBRARIAN- Traffic for Oct. 86 was 2811, up IX from
Oct. 85, up 21% from Sept.86. Circulation was 5313 for Qct.86,
up 6% from Oct.85, up 14% from Sept.86. Circulation to
Yellowstone County residents was 23%.
COMMITTEE REPORTS -
Grant Committee -Adele Zink reported that the grant committee
has been meeting once a week and the MPCO Entech grant will be
ready to submit next week.
Federation advisory meeting -no meeting
Friends of the Library -The book sale of donated books went
well with over $30 dollars collected in one day.
P.A.L.S. -Peggy Arnold atttended on Nov.6 and reported
several items discussed at that meeting.
OLD BUSINESS -there was discussion to try to meet with school
personnell concerning building site selection. The resignation of
Sedley Baroness was accepted at the Nov. 5 city council meeting
and Campbell Calvert was accepted as the new board member.
NEW BUSINESS- Bonnie Preikszas will talk to the Friends of the
library about conducting tours of the library. The Friends would
be trained by library staff. It was moved,seconded, and passed
to recommend Sue Carter to serve as temporary library board
member Jan. -April while Gene Williams is in Helena. Ruth
Baker(temporary board member for Evelyn Crow) will help Adele
Zink chair the board while Gene is away. There was discussion on
setting up an endowment fund to help our fund raising efforts.
Gene Williams will investigate this more.
OTHER BUSINESS- It was moved seconded and passed to adhere to the
practice of closing the library early on Thanksgiving. Eve,
Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve.
