AMENDING SECTION 7.04.020 PROHIBITING
THE KEEPING OF SHEEP WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY
AND ALLOWING THE KEEPING OF RABBITS FOR NON-
COMMERCIAL PURPOSES ONLY:
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Laurel, Montana, that Section 7.04.020 of the Laurel
Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows:
7.04.020 Keeping certain animals prohibited.

A. No person shall keep swine, pigeons, chickens, ducks
geese, turkeys, goats, horses, cows, mules, sheep or
chinchillas within the limits of the municipality
except when transferring such animals to market or
otherwise allowed within this code.
B. No person shall keep upon his premises more than two
cats.
C. No person shall keep or maintain more than one female
rabbit or hare for purposes of breeding, or more than
one litter of rabbits or hares for purposes of sale,
on any premises within the municipality controlled by
such person. Any person legally keeping or maintaining
any rabbits or hares hereunder shall keep them caged or
enclosed at all times, and shall not allow them to roam
off the persons own premises.
This ordinance shall be effective Thirty (30) days after
final passage and approval.
