ATTENDING-Gene Williams(presiding), Bonnie Preikszas, Adele Zink,

MINUTES -Read and approved
CORRESPONDENCE- Received a letter of resignation from Norma Larson
effective Nov.30,1987. A grant proposal was sent to Mountain Bell
on November 5. Mel Williams received notice from BN Foundation
that they will keep our request in mind for future grant awards.
REPORT OF LIBRARIAN - Traffic for October 1987 was 2699, down 4%
from Oct. 1986, up 16% from Sept. 1987. Circulation for October
1987 was 4693, down 12% from October 1986, up 8X from Sept. 1987.
Circulation to Yellowstone County residents was 1435 or 30X of
the total circulation.
FINANCIAL -The capital projects fund has $76,936.83 in it.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
TRUST -A motion was made,seconded, and passed to accept
Claude Cory and Burt Kucera to the Laurel Library Trust board.
FRIENDS -will not meet until January
OLD BUSINESS -none
NEW BUSINESS -A motion was made, seconded, and passed to accept
the resignation of Norma Larson. A motion was made, seconded, and
passed to fill the part time permanent aid position by whatever
means the Mayor suggests.
Elsie Johnston would like to give the library the rest of
the Laurel History Books to sell for our building fund. A motion
was made, seconded, and passed for the Chairperson to have the
authority to discuss with the trust attorney and the city
attorney how to handle the selling of the Laurel History Books
the proceeds of which will go to the building fund.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to close early on
November 25, Dec. 24, and Dec. 31 at the discretion of the
Librarian. A motion was made, seconded, and passed to close the
library the Saturdays after Christmas and New Years since these
holidays fall on a day that we are normally closed.
NEXT MEETINGS - Special meeting Dec. 3, next regular meeting Dec.
17 at 9 a.m.
