HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board Minutes 04.28.1988 Minutes of the Laurel Public Library Board of Trustees DATE -April 28,1988, 9:00 a.m. ATTENDING - Campbell Calvert(presiding), Adele Zink, Bonnie Preikszas, and Peggy Arnold MINUTES -Read and approved COORESPONDENCE- Received a letter from the Parmly Billings Library Board concerning county contracts. CBG architects has started advertising for bids with a bid opening scheduled for 5 P.M. May 16. REPORT OF LIBRARIAN - Traffic for March of 88 was 3,394; up 7% from March 87, up 34% from Feb. 88. Circulation for March 88 was 5,222; up 5% from March 87 and up 9% from Feb. 88. COMMITTEE REPORTS - Friends -The open house was attended by approximately 80 people with Adele Zink, Bonnie Preikszas, and Margaret Fox serving and providing cookies. Sue Carter and the Laurel Womans Club also provided cookies. P.A.L.S. -The next meeting will be May 12 at 9:00 a.m. OLD BUSINESS -The library board will be thinking of ways to reorganize and get renewed interest in the Friends of the Library. Camb has not heard from Claude Cory on the insurance for the Laurel History books that the Library Trust owns. Camb will try to get a history book signed by the trust members and will check on the cover letter to be sent to Alberta Bair. NEW BUSINESS -All available board members will meet with the Parmly board at noon on May 5. Camb and Bonnie will work on invitations for the groundbreaking.
