HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board Minutes 06.23.1988 Laurel Public Library Board of Trustees Regular meeting -June 23,1988 Attending -Gene Williams(presiding),Bonnie Preikszas, Camb Calvert, Keith Thompson, Peggy Arnold, Adele Zink Minutes -The special meeting minutes for May and the regular meeting minutes for May were read and approved. Communications - Donations have been received from Cenex, Barbara and Jim Wanvig, the Brickman family for trees,and from the Masonic Lodge. A motion was passed to maintain a file of any communications from the Parmly Billings Joint City- County Library. Report of the Librarian - Traffic for May was 2329, up 11% from May of 87, down 9% from April 88. Circulation for May was 3549, down 3% from May of 87, down 14% from April of 88. Committee Reports Groundbreaking- everyone commented on what a success it was and how much the participants enjoyed it. Old Business - Collection of pledges will be worked on in July. New Business -Judge C.B. Sande may be resigning from the joint city- county library board. The county commissioners would like someone from the Laurel county area to apply for the opening after it is official. A motion was passed to recommend Carolyn Boyd 010 Roger Perkins for the vacancy if either are interested. AN° D A motion was passed to charge a $16 yearly card fee per family to non - residents of Laurel payable quarterly for fiscal year 1988 -1989. A motion was passed to accept the budget changes presented at the May 31 budget meeting.
