HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board Minutes 09.27.1988 Regular Meeting of Laurel Public Library Board of Trustees Sept. 27,1988 Attending -Gene Williams(presiding), Campbell Calvert, Bonnie Preikszas, Adele Zink, Peggy Arnold, Claude Cory Minutes -read and approved Report of the Librarian - Traffic for August 88 was 1975, down 15% from Aug. 87, up 10% from July 88. Circulation for August 88 was 3,670, down 23% from Aug. 87, up 16% from July 88. Committee reports P.A.L.S. -The Sept.24th meeting was held at the Laurel Public Library and was well attended and included a tour of the new library. Herbsfest parade -Adele reported that Bob Graham couldn't catch his horses to pull his carriage in the parade. Trust - Claude Cory attended the meeting to get suggestions for the contents of a cover letter to be sent with the Laurel History book we are sending to Alberta Bair. New Business -A motion was passed to let Milt Wester have and make available to the public the old issues of the Laurel Outlook. A motion was passed to give the property occupied by the Laurel Public Library at 115 W. First Street to the City of Laurel when it is vacated. A motion was passed to consider storing the Herbsfest mugs after we are moved and settled in our new building. New Building -The central circulation desk and landscaping were discussed. Box 10 Laurel, Mt. 59044 September 27,1988 Dear City Council Members: The Laurel Public Library Board of Trustees passed a motion at their regular meeting on September 27 at 9 a.m. That motion read 'to give the property at 115 West First Street now occupied by the library to the City of Laurel when the building is vacated'.
