Attending -Gene Williams(presiding), Camb Calvert, Adele Zink,
Bonnie Preikszas, Peggy Arnold
Minutes -read and approved
Communications -The Laurel Library will receive the 60 volume
set of the Library of America Books. Arlis bidwell of the
Montana Library Association informed the board that Gene
Williams has been chosen of the Trustee of the year. Other
communications included information about the 1989 -90
budget, the REference Institute to be held June 19 -22 in
Helena, the MPLA /MLA joint conference to be held April 26 -29,
and from the new state librarian, Richard Miller.
Report of the Librarian Traffic for March 89 was 2,790 down
18% from March of 88, up 23% from Feb.89. Circulation for
March was 4,589, down 12% from March 88, up 21% from Feb.89.
Committee Reports
P.A.L.S. -Peggy Arnold will attend the March 30th meeting
which includes a literacy workshop.
Unfinished Business A June 24th date has beensuggested for
the open house and dedication of the new building. The library
staff will set up guidelines for use of the community room.
New Business A motion was passed to pay the registration fees
and mileage from the travel and meeting account of the budget
for Peggy Arnold so that she may attend the MPLA /MLA conference
in Billings April 27 & 28. A motion was passed to have Peggy
Arnold attend the Reference Institute June 19 -22 in Helena.
The preliminary 1989 -90 budget requests were discussed. One
change was made to increase the travel and meeting line item.
A motion was passed to approve the budget requests.
Next meeting April 25 at 1:30 p.m.
