LAUREL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Attending -Donna Kilpatrick(presiding), Burt Kucera,
Shirley Vennes, Peggy Arnold
Minutes -The minutes of the Oct.26,1993 board meeting
were read and approved. No meetings were held
in Nov. and Dec.
Communications -There will be an M.L.A. midwinter
retreat in Livingston Feb. 11 & 12. Peggy will
attend.
Committees- Several work meetings have been held
to review the trustee manual. Peggy presented
some statistics of our service area, a copy of
the budget,and update of board members and their
terms, and a list of employees. A work meeting
will be held Friday Feb. 4 at 9:30 to work on
the by -laws. Peggy reported on the P.A.L.S. meeting
she attended Jan. 21.
Old Business -none
New Business -The Laurel Woman's Club and the Laurel
Federated Woman's Club would like to hold a silver
tea or open house during National Library Week
on Wednesday. It was suggested to have a book
signing along with the open house. A small group
of people would like to present a playet on Tuesday
during N.L.W.
Circulation- Traffic for Dec. 93 was 1,999 up 11%
from Dec. 92. Circulation for Dec. 93 was 2,902
down 1% from Dec. 92.
Next meeting -The regular board meeting will now
be held the first Thursday of every month at 12:30
p.m. The next meeting will be Thursday Feb. 3
at 12:30 p.m.
