Board of Trustees Sept. 14,1998
Attending - Shirley Cahill(presiding), Marilyn Minch, Peg Freund, Donna
Kilpatrick, and Peggy Arnold
Coorespondence -The Schools and Library Corporation requested a copy of the
contract with U.S. West for the erate discount application. There will be a
Federation Advisory Board meeting and workshop on Sept. 26.
Circulation- Traffic for Aug 98 was 1,374 down 8% from Aug 97. Circulation for
Aug was 3,284 up less than 1% from Aug 97.
Old Business -The new photocopier is in use. The staff is learning Athena,
Lasercat for Windows, and Windows NT. The Athena representative had to
reschedule training for a later date. Peggy will not take the Windows NT
administration class this fall.
New Business- The school has placed a computer in the library as part of a
grant for the family resource center. CorpsLink has completed some painting
and dirt work outside the library. Peggy reported on the Aug 22 P.A.L.S
meeting and she will attend a Sept. 16 workshop on Interlibrary Loan. The
ambulance volunteers will use the community room on Monday and Wednesday
evenings for EMT classes until December. There will be a quilt show, a new
computer on display and bookmarks for Children's Book Week Nov. 15 -21.
Next meeting -Due to Columbus Day Holiday the next meeting will be on
Wednesday Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
