HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board Minutes 01.10.2000 Minutes of the Laurel Public Library Board of Trustees Jan. 10, 2000 Attending - Marilyn Minch(presiding), Peg Freund, Katherine Kucera, Gail Brice, and Peggy Arnold Minutes -read, corrected, and approved Correspondence -Peggy received notice of a planning and council training session to be held January 22 for department heads and aldermen. Registration materials were received for the 'Offline' retreat to be held in Great Falls on February 25 -26. Announcements -The erate deadline for year three is January 19, the Gates Foundation workshop is January 11, and the ambulance volunteers will be using the community room for training on Mondays and Wednesdays from January 12 through February 9. There was an article in the Laurel Outlook about the bike racks that the Girls Scouts installed. The Laurel History Books that the Library Trust owns are now stored in the library. Circulation - Traffic for November 99 was 1,548 up 15% from November 98 and circulation for November 99 was 2,889 down 5% from November 98. Traffic for December 99 was 1,228 down 12% from December 98 and circulation for December 99 was 2,770 down 5% from December 98. Old Business -none New Business -Peggy Arnold will create a 'sweetheart' list and send valentines to show the libraries appreciation to those on the list. Peggy distributed the new Montana Library Laws and Standards to the board members that were present. Now is a good time to begin thinking of ideas for a summer reading program. Next meeting- February 14 at 7:00 p.m.
