AMENDING SECTION 2.08.090, CITY ENGINEER
DUTIES, OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel,
Section 2.08.090 is hereby amended as follows:
Section 2.08.090 City Enqineer - Duties.
The

City Engineer shall:
Engineer construction of streets, alleys, sidewalks,
recommending grades, staking the same.
2. Prepare data on Special Improvement District projects.
3. Manage the design and construction of all major projects.
4. Develop short and long range plans coordinating with
developers, builders, and citizens on public needs and
projects.
5. Be the ex-officio street commissioner and shall be in
charge and have control of all work performed on any
public street, alley or culvert.
6. Be the ex-officio sewer commissioner and shall supervise
all sewers, connections and waste disposals.
7. Be registered in State as an engineer and shall have
three (3) years satisfactory experience in municipal
engineering.
8. In carrying out his overall control of the City employees,
the City Engineer shall not interfere in the daily operation
of the various departments but shall exercise his authority
through the various department heads and supervisory
employees.

September 2, 1986, by Alderman Collins
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council and APPROVED
by the Mayor this 23rd day of September, 1986.
This ordinance effective 30 days after final passage.
