HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 895 ORDINANCE NO. 895 AMENDING SECTION 2.08.135, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS DUTIES, OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel, that Section 2.08.135 is hereby amended as follows: Section 2.08.135 Director of Public Works - Duties. The Director of Public Works shall: 1. Supervise operations of the City Engineer, Maintenance Director, and Public Utilities Director. 2. Will prepare budgets with cooperation of Maintenance Director and Public Utilities Director. 3. Order equipment and supplies needed. 4. Will work with City officials on projects to best utilize funds and manpower. 5. Approve scheduling of personnel and vacations. 6. Serve on various appointed committees at the Mayor's and/or Council's discretion. 7. Prepare systems of maintenance management in cooperation with department heads for all departments of the public works. 8. Shall have three (3) year's experience in supervisory management of construction and/or maintenance of public works. 9. In the event there is no City Engineer, the Director of Public Works will assume all duties of the City Engineer. Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on September 2, 1986, by Alderman Meyers PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this 23rd day of September, 1986.
