Spray Park —
• Norm reviewed the project to this point, noting the money for the Billie Riddle endowment of
$107,000.
• We decided on a free flow system over a re- circulating system — draining water to the sewer —
less expensive — possibility of reusing the water for irrigation.
• We need the Park Maintenance District established in order to generate funds to build and
maintain this spray park and all our existing parks.
• Norm tried to contact Brett Rutherford, Election administrator, regarding the ballot this Fall or
Spring. Norm will continue to gather information about the election.
• Amy is going to work with Heidi Jensen, our city Planner to give her the plans we have started
with and see how we should proceed — Norm will ask Heidi to attend our next meeting.
Council Updates-
• ExxonMobil is offering $10,000 /year to the city for the easement to drill their new pipeline
under the Yellowstone River.
• Exxon is also offering $1,000 /day for the time they will be shutting down Riverside Park to clean
up the spill and dill the new pipeline.
• This money will go in the general fund for Riverside Park only.
• (After the meeting, Exxon announced they will be paying a one -time donation of $300,000 for
stabilizing the levee along the Yellowstone.)
Other Comments-
• LuAnne suggested we contact Town Pump about offering help to clean up the triangle corner
that is in serious need of weeding and improvement. It is one of the first views of Laurel and it
has become overgrown. She will contact Town Pump.
Next Meeting — Thursday, September 1 — 5:30 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
